Roachside Cottage

Part of the living landscape of the Roaches

Peak District National Park - Upper Hulme, Nr Leek ST13 8UB

Thank you for another lovely stay in your beautiful cottage. It was lovely to have a bit longer this time.

We have had a great week here despite the weather being up and down!

We walked in The Roaches, Tittesworth Water and climbed up to Thor's Cave on the Manifold Trail. We had some nice meals at The Three Horseshoes and the nicest meal by far was at The Ship Inn in Wincle. We enjoyed the coziness of the cottage and loved the log fire.

Thank you for the lovely welcome when we arrived and for showing us the baby birds. We look forward to returning in the near future.

Thank you so much. I have enjoyed climbing up the big hills and going on long walks.

We went all the way round the lake - it was 7 km. We went the Thor's Cave. I liked going inside it. It was a bit slippery. I got very muddy. I have loved being here. I hope to come again soon.

We totally didn’t expect this place to be as wonderful as it was ... stunning in every way !!

Robert was a great host, explained the cottage in full & check in was very easy. 2x bedrooms with large living space downstairs , kitchen & wood burning fire too.

Location to die for, with hours of walks on your doorstep. Shops , pubs & restaurants a short drive away. All in all , I’ll definitely be back if I’m in the area.

Thanks again. Peter.

If you are lucky enough to be staying here, you are in for a real treat.

The cottage is spotlessly clean, and the beds are sooooo comfy. All the amenities are perfect. The location is simply amazing. I visited with my wife, our dog and our 3 children. The youngest child is 2 and the eldest is 8, they are all boys. Rob and Scout have thought of everything when getting this cottage ready. It's brilliant for kids, and would make an amazing romantic retreat.

Thank you so much for your hospitality.

Mike

......We all went to a Pub, I enjoyed a trip up a mountain.  The bed was very comfy, I'd love to come back. Thank you - Casey (8), Reggie (5)

What a beautiful cottage with stunning views! Although our visit coincided with the hottest day of the year, we still managed to walk to Tittesworth Water across the fields, a circular walk to the Trig Point (505m) and a fab meal at The Lazy Trout!

The funniest moment was while having a beer outside the cottage on the bench, some walkers asked if it was a pub!!!

Thanks Rob & Scout for a wonderful 3 night break. We will recommend to all! Best wishes, Sheila, Garry & Dolly

Robert was so helpful before getting to the cottage and he was always accessible if we had any questions, he also left a lot of information about how to use things in the house and a bit of background info about the area!

The cottage itself was gorgeous, and with a fabulous view. We had a lot of fun and even did a little climbing in the roaches!

Thank you Robert!
