Roachside Cottage

Part of the living landscape of the Roaches

Peak District National Park - Upper Hulme, Nr Leek ST13 8UB

The Roachside Cottage is FANTASTIC!! We loved it so much we did not want to leave. The location of the cottage could not be better and the views from the cottage are breathtaking. Rob is the most wonderful host and he gave us really useful local tips. We completed a fantastic 7 mile walk and started the walk from the doorstep of the cottage. I really would recommend doing the figure of 8 walk to Ludschurch back to Hen's Cloud as the view and the landscape is something else. The cottage itself had all the amenities we needed, the beds were so comfortable and the views from the bath is just incredible. We will definitely be back.

We had the best stay. The pictures on-line do not portray the house & it’s surroundings fully. This place is beautiful. We will definitely be back to do some more exploring.

p.s. Robert, A special thanks - All the extras in the house made our stay even better ie charging cables, maps & guides etc

What an amazing stay. Beautiful views, wonderful surroundings and brand new memories.

Our stay at Roachside Cottage has been  wonderful. Thank you Rob for our lovely stay at your cosy cottage for the Bank Holiday weekend

We'll be back!!

What a wonderful cottage. We have had such a lovely two night stay. Our adventures included a trip to the Roaches Tearoom, a lovely walk foraging for blackberries and a trip to Tittesworth Water.

Thank you for making our stay so comfortable. We had everything we needed - so comfortable, in fact, that we really don’t want to leave!

Will recommend to all and we really hope to return again.

Best wishes

Climbing The Roaches at night to watch the valley turn to man-made sparkles while the sun went down; until the human-glare was overtaken by the vast moorlands of darkness, reminded me that although we seem to do so much harm to the environment, there may be a balance after all.

Ludschurch was a delight, not least because it is not a "church"! We felt the nearness of innocent joy that the first to name the place must have felt too.

The boys enjoyed paddleboarding along with the hearty pub meals. We;ve played way too much "Yahtzee", not to mention "Slam" & "Scrabble" with warming fires.

The cottage is so well stocked. It has been an absolute pleasure to stay and explore from here. I'd love to come back. Thank you Robert and the lovely Scout.
