Roachside Cottage

Part of the living landscape of the Roaches

We had SUCH a brilliant time staying at Roachside Cottage. Went away as two couples, went for some lovely walks and for a meal at the Lazy Trout (can definitely vouch for Robert’s recommendation). A well needed break for all and a lovely setting to catch up. Highly highly recommend and even thinking of gifting a weekend here for my parents at some point!

Just spent a glorious three days at Roachside Cottage . A sparkling clean and very comfortable accomadation in superb location . You wake up to beautiful views , take a soak in the tub with the same view , make a cuppa and have another lovely vista to gaze upon whilst waiting for the kettle to boil and watch the a gorgeous sun set from this gem of a cottage . We were a party of four, grandma, grandad and two teenage grandchildren, we all scored our stay as a ten out of ten !

Plenty of easy and challenging walks straight from the doorstep We enjoyed discovering the enchanting Ludschurch, climbing up and along The Roaches and Hen Cloud . This was a taster of an area we didn’t know and now want to go back and discover more. Robert is a gent and greeted us with a warm welcome . You will enjoy the thoughtful locally inspired goodies left for his guests. Kitchen is great, well equipped and a dream to prepare meals in. The underfloor heating gave things a luxurious touch and Robert left us with more than enough logs for the grandchildren to keep a roaring fire going in the log burner every night! We were all sad to leave our cosy, idyllic hideaway. A restorative break. Thank you Robert !

The cottage is absolutely beautiful; thoughtfully renovated and decorated, immaculately clean and with everything you could need.

Rob (and his dog Scout) met us there on arrival despite us turning up later than expected, and was the perfect host. The cottage location really suited us, with walks to the Roaches right from the front door and a lovely family friendly pub (the Lazy Trout) 5 mins away. Lovely place to get away from it all.

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. We have enjoyed our walks on The Roaches, Ludschurch, Leek and coming back to a cosy, warm cottage. Everything was clean and the beds are very comfy. Thank you for the oatcakes, cheese & beer. We can't wait to come back.

Bruno (the dog) managed to resist the urge to play with the fire logs, we are very proud of him!

Thank you very much, muchas gracias.

Fantastic cottage in a breath-taking location. Spotless inside. Loads of info on walks etc in the area.

Great communication with Robert. Weekend couldn't have been better. Thank you Robert for all of the additional touches to make our stay comfortable. We hope to be back!
